I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Joining the Permanent Recruitment team has given me a chance to take on the challenge of helping people achieve their career goals, not only changing their careers but also their life. Describe your job in three words.

Rewarding, Eventful, Purposeful- Helping someone find their dream job or start a new career and seeing them thrive is the best feature of this job. You have a purpose in finding the right candidate for the right job, constantly making new relationships and developing old ones. Every day in recruitment is different from the previous one, and we get to learn new things and see some fantastic things as well!

What are the essentials skills for someone working in recruitment to have?

If you want to work in recruitment or a similar job position, you must be naturally curious. This will allow you to search for people, learn about them, and compare their skills and experiences to find the right candidate for a specific job. However, you should be pretty organised and show strong attention to detail because you will be working with a lot of information. You need to be focused and check that all information is correct before continuing the recruitment process.

What does your day-to day role entail?

Screening applications, interviewing qualified candidates, providing analytical and well-documented recruiting reports, and sourcing and recruiting candidates using databases and social media.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

Currently we are in the process of onboarding new team members, and I get to share my knowledge with the new team members and be included in the onboarding process.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

Bringing people together and making a difference in someone’s career, as well as their life.

What challenges have you faced?

Probably the biggest challenge would be sourcing candidates that are determined to apply to a specific job opening as, most of the time, exceptional candidates are pursuing multiple opportunities simultaneously.

What is the best thing about being part of the Olive Recruit Team?

I love being a part of a team of enthusiastic, results-driven, and reliable people, where we enhance each other’s skills and express in subtle ways that we appreciate and respect each other. It’s simply an amazing feeling.
