Describe your job in three words.

Aside from the fact that no two days are the same, I believe this role is fun, challenging and fast-paced!

What are the essentials skills for someone working in recruitment to have?

For someone working in recruitment, it is essential to be enthusiastic, have strong communication skills, be a good listener and be resilient. As a recruiter, you are responsible for filling any job openings a client may have; this includes advertising a role, sourcing candidates, reviewing their skills and experience and negotiating. A good recruiter has a good eye for detail, will be able to show empathy, enjoy the variety that the job carries and be able to reach the set targets.

What does your day-to-day role entail?

My daily responsibilities include overseeing the team and evaluating the process and structure to ensure we work efficiently and smartly using our resources. This way, we make sure to see results quicker and focus on other goals and targets. My job is to manage the clients through service and sales activity and be the face of Olive Recruit in the UK.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

Winning new business for the team to start resourcing for. Implementing a new CRM system and ensuring clear goals are set and met.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

Making a difference.

Being part of a good team means that I will consistently be recognised and appreciated for my contribution, which motivates me daily. Also, I love being able to develop and grow my team as well as lead by example.

What challenges have you faced?

I can happily say that being a part of a fantastic team means that we tackle challenges head-on, and we are able to come up with the right solutions in even the most difficult situations.

What is the best thing about being part of the Olive Recruit Team?

Since joining the team, I have made many changes to how we work; luckily, this has resulted in instant positive results, meaning that the team trusts my expertise, knowledge and skills. I am trusted to make business decisions that will enable us all to benefit. We work as a team and share information constantly, everyone has a voice in the team, and because of this, I am still learning after 24 years!
