What website do you visit the most?

Psychology Today is a website where I can read many articles on different psychological topics (HR, recruiting, psychotherapy, evolutionary psychology, attachment, sexuality…). I find it useful because it has a lot of scientific articles based on research and experiments.

What is the last book you read?

“A Caribbean Mystery” – Agatha Christie

Describe your job in three words.

Fun, Fulfilling and Communicational. As a Junior Recruiter, I speak with people from the healthcare industry every day. I find it engaging and communicational as you get an insight into how one system works. Apart from the opportunity to see the system from the inside, you are involved in the psychological part of the job which is understanding and exploring people’s inner worlds and different characteristics that make each of us unique. What is most fulfilling is knowing that the people we talk to are changing lives and helping people daily.

What are the essentials skills for someone working in recruitment to have?

First, active listening, because it is essential to listen to the people so you can understand their character, recognise their needs and meet their expectations. Also, empathy so you can understand their emotions when doing this job, how their job makes them feel and how they can all contribute to making challenging times less difficult. Finally, attention to detail is critical because it allows you to match their skills with the job description and the requirements that the clients are looking for.

What does your day-to-day role entail?

My role on a daily basis includes reading candidates’ resumes, sourcing candidates and meeting with the team to discuss the latest changes, ask for advice or solve a challenging situation. The most exciting part is talking to candidates and learning more about their experience, skills and abilities.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

Learning how to navigate the Bullhorn system.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

After conducting an interview, learning that you’ve helped someone find their dream job and embark on a new career journey is the most inspiring part of my job.

What challenges have you faced?

My biggest challenge when starting as a Junior Recruiter was picking up the phone and calling a candidate.

What is the best thing about being part of the Olive Recruit Team?

The best thing about this team is that we all work in a healthy environment, everyone is prepared to help at any time, and there’s a fantastic team spirit throughout the company.
