Angela Stoimenov

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and got a certificate in Human Resources. I always wanted to work in an environment where I can combine my bachelor’s degree and my trainings in Human Resources. Being part of the permanent recruiter team helped me to understand how much I love working towards helping someone start or grow in their career while being inspired with their life stories. Outside of work I love to do creative arts, including writing, music, painting, and crafts as well as spending time with my family.

What website do you visit the most?

In my free time or even when I ride on the bus, I go to Open Library. It’s a fantastic website for all book lovers where you can find classic literature and choose from recently published books. The best thing about it is that it is free!

What is the last book you read?

“Atomic Habits” by James Clear

Describe your job in three words.

Dynamic, Impactful, Diverse – Working in recruitment is dynamic as you get to talk to people from different places, backgrounds and experiences every day, which also makes it quite diverse. No two days are the same, but each day we try to impact someone’s life positively.

What are the essentials skills for someone working in recruitment to have?

Appealing to a range of skills and abilities can be competitive and requires a determined mindset. Often the ability to communicate effectively and being able to multitask are, in my opinion, key characteristics for someone that wants a career in recruitment. The recruitment process is a people-focused career, so establishing strong relationship-building skills and networking abilities is essential.

What does your day-to-day role entail?

My day typically involves talking to people on the phone, scheduling interviews and reviewing the resumes we receive from our candidates. Furthermore, I act as a point of contact for candidates and clients and am trusted to build a strong relationship with candidates during the entire selection process.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

Currently, we are working on developing and implementing new strategies to improve our recruitment process. We meet to think and share ideas collectively, which makes it really fun and engaging!

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

Building relationships is the most inspiring part of my job. You get to learn about their life and why they chose the work that they do, and you also get to share the joy when they start their dream job. Watching how they succeed in their career, there’s no better feeling in the world!

What challenges have you faced?

The biggest challenge in this job is to be sure that you have found the right person for the right job. However, it is essential to ensure a good candidate experience as well.
